2UPs Matched Betting Strategy

2UP/Early payout offer

Early payout is a common offer used by most of the mainstream bookmakers. Namely, PaddyPower, Bet365, and SkyBet in some occasions.

If the team in question goes 2 goals ahead (2up), the bet will be settled as a winner immediately. If they go on to draw or lose the game, your bet remains a winner.

How does this create a matched betting opportunity?

Betting exchanges do not offer an early payout offer. This means if the team goes 2 goals up and then fails to win, our bookmaker bet will win (due to the early payout), and the exchange bet will also win. This results in a significant profit.

To minimise our losses if the strategy doesn't win, the bookmaker odds must be a close match with the odds on an exchange.

2 bets must be placed. See the following example to illustrate:

  • Australia to win - 1.4 at Bet365

  • Australia to win - Lay price 1.43 at Smarkets

  • Odds are a close match

If Australia go 2 goals ahead, your Bet365 bet will settle as a winner. If they go on to draw or lose, the Lay bet also wins.

As the odds are similar, we would only take a small loss (<1% of total stake) if the 2UP fails.

It is not always necessary to let the exchange bet play out. If your team goes 2 goals ahead, you can consider exiting your exchange position for profit. Always wait for the bookmaker to payout before exiting your exchange position.

How to find 2UP/Early Payout opportunities

Finding early payout offers is straightforward. Find games where early payout is being offered (will state it). Then go to a betting exchange, such as Smarkets, and pick the games where the odds for a team to win and the odds for the lay are as similar as possible (as shown in the example above).

As it can be time consuming, if you'd prefer that the work is done for you, we deliver daily 2UP alerts directly to your phone through our premium matched betting Telegram channel. See an example posted below:
